New Intermediate wing from APCO (DHV 1-2)

The time for a new glider has arrived – finally we are launching a long-awaited DHV 1-2 – SALSA.
It has been designed to be the backbone of our 2005 range of gliders. Great attention was paid to ensure that the glider would be successful and liked by you and your pilots, justifying the hopes and promise its name carries

SALSA will be introduced in 4 sizes – covering the entire weight range up to 130 kg.
The 2 main sizes – SALSA S and SALSA M have already successfully completed DHV 1-2 certification test flights and are approved in Class DHV 1-2 trim and accelerated.
The XS and L sizes will follow shortly.

We believe that SALSA represents a major step and will be a corner stone in APCO’s history.
SALSA is back to our roots, with the original “APCO feel”. A lesson was learnt from Presta and Keara feedback, so SALSA offers all the best points of ALLEGRA, but is even better.
Performance boundaries are pushed further, handling is even sweeter, safety more reassuring. Ground handling and launch easier than ever.

How did we achieve this?
It took almost 2 years of intensive R&D and quite a few prototypes.

The glider weight has been sharply reduced, even though we are using the same “heavy duty”, reliable Gelvenor cloth for all surfaces – making SALSA lighter than most of the competition -consequently improving launch and safety.
New planform and profile help for excellent handling and top performance for its class (yes, once again we are sure that SALSA, continuing the APCO legacy, will perform better than any other wing in its class).
Safety, feel and handling will remind you of ALLEGRA, but turn coordination is more precise and brake response is immediate and direct.
SALSA is equipped with HIT valves (becoming standard on APCO gliders – see our website for HIT valve explanation go to Products – Keara). It guarantees the widest speed range on accelerator, and safe, excellent glide across the range.

· L/E pocket for optional FLEXON batten placing to keep launch trouble-free even after years of use.
· Butt hole – (Velcro closure on tip) to easily empty sand and dirt
· Minimal drag hook-up points
