Air Turquoise to start as test laboratory for the new European test standard for paragliders.

Since 1997 several European Hang Gliding and Paragliding Federations, especially France (FFVL), Italy (FIVL), Great Britain (BHPA), Germany (DHV) and Switzerland (SHV) were engaged in the development of a new European test standard for paragliders. On Frebruary 3rd , 2005, the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) finally agreed to the new test standard.

Air Turquoise, i.e. its owner Alain Zoller decided to start with the new testing method according to the new European test standard for paragliders EN-926-2 in April 2006. The Swiss Hang Gliding and Paragliding Federation (SHV) welcomes this step and Air Turquoise thereby will be the first enterprise which will offer tests according to the new standard. At the same time the AFNOR tests so far accomplished on behalf of the SHV are stopped. Air Turquoise acts as an independent enterprise and is in the best way qualified for the new task due to its past work for the SHV as well as for the DHV. The Swiss Hang Gliding and Paragliding Federation SHV will unreservedly recognize the tests according to EN 926-2 accomplished by Air Turquoise and will of course permit candidates with CEN-tested paragliders to participate at the practical pilot examinations.
