Dear dealers and flying schools,
this year we want to present to you a totally new product which not only is appropriate to be operated in aviation, but which indeed can be used for multiple other outdoor activities.
The new device is called SensBox and it is, as the name suggests, a sensorbox which contains the following electronic sensors/functions:
 GPS module of the most recent technology
 magnetic compass
 precision pressure sensor for altimetry and QNH
 digital Vario with acoustics
 3 axes gyros
 3 axes acceleration sensor
 temperature sensor
 data logger ( igc file )
 Bluetooth 4.0 LE
 USB-interface ( also usable for battery recharge )
This instrument could be useful for the paraglider / hang glider pilot as a small basic Vario with selectable display of altitude or Vario, but in the same way also for the competition pilot who is looking for a reliable backup instrument.
The flights are recorded in usual *.igc format and saved on a SD card. The read out from this data medium is possible from any PC-System.
Firmware updates are equally performed via the SD card.
All flight related data can be transferred in Real Time via Bluetooth on an iPhone or iPad using Bluetooth 4.0 LE, in this case on a Butterfly-Avionics app. There is an app available especially for paraglider and hang glider pilots which is named „freeflight“.
This app represents a perfect navigation system with topographic maps and Restricted Areas, integrated flight information, with route planning, but also Vario and altimeter, GPS speed and Altitude Over Ground ( AGL ). It would be going too far here to list all options. The presence of an iPad and of the SensBox on the front container will form a perfect flight cockpit, which simply would leave nothing to be desired.
